I posted this
offer on Conservativelib 10 days ago but haven't had any takers yet so I'm
putting it out here for anyone interested. Think of it as an adventure on the
cheap.
Conservator's birthday
was Monday
Pennyfeather
owned a Ford Torino, how cool is that?!
iTunes purchase today: Better Days - Goo Goo Dolls and
Pretty Vegas - INXS
Here's a list
of candidates for Council. Scroll down
to see both petition and nominated ones. No links to profiles yet, I think I made
a mistake on mine. I should have put www.shush.ws in the library field instead
of just SHUSH but I'm sure people will figure it out.

John Berry recently ranted in Library Journal about the
ineffectiveness of IFFORUM. Granted it is a bit of a pit but its a good place to
hone your debating skills if you have a strong stomach.
Some of my views are considered a little more radical then
others. One of them is on flag burning. Personally I hate the idea of amending
the Constitution but there should be at least one thing in this country that is
sacred. Here's my recent email on it:
You can't do any of those things without someone with a badge at some point
asking you why you're doing what you're doing. Why? Because what you're
doing is sending a message to someone or someones and its not a friendly
message.
You can say you hate the government, the President, Congress, apples, pie,
eagles, whatever. But when you start lighting fire to the primary symbol of
the country you happen to be standing in then you're sending a message and
its not a friendly message. And someone with a badge should be able to walk
up to you and ask why you're doing what you're doing and might not it be in
the best interest of everyone concerned if you don't put it out.
Seems simple enough to me...
Its Codrescu
from MidWinter and its worth watching! Saturday at 5:45 on BookTV!

Michael
Golrick tagged me for a meme (though he might want to consider emailing the
people he's tagging when he tags them). Yes, I know I'm not a meme fan but since
turning Michael down is like kicking puppies here we go...
Four jobs I've had in my life (other than library) and in chronological order:
I'm going to define jobs as ones involving an actual paycheck, including social security and everything, so we'll skip past the high school years...
Four movies I could watch over and over:
1. Cannonball Run
Four places I've lived:
1. Blaine, ME (a 'suburb' of Mars Hill)
Four TV shows I love to watch:
1. Good Eats (I'm with Michael, Alton Brown rocks!)
Four websites I visit daily:
1. The Corner, National Review Online
4 Places I have been on vacation:
1. Las Vegas, NV
Four of my favorite foods:
1. Bit O'Honeys
Four places I'd rather be:
1. Birch Point Campground
Four albums I can't live without:
1. Muppet Movie Soundtrack
Four Vehicles I've Owned
1. 1974 Ford Maverick
I'm supposed to tag four folks.... so that's you, you,... you over there, and hey
you! No fair running away! Yeah I'm talking to YOU! You're IT!

Its seems to me the cartoon that should be shown most
is the one the newspaper France Soir made specifically in response to the
Muslim outcry. This was the best picture I could find.
Apparently that's never happened before because 3 of the
4 networks were wall-to-wall coverage on it, preempting the normal political talking
head shows. Fox was nice enough to let me watch FoxNews Sunday but warned of an
extra 3-4 hours worth of coverage spread throughout the day.
